Star Wars: Fit for a Queen

Attack of the Clones: Free of the constraints of a politician, Padmé can wear more practical clothing while on Geonosis. The white elastic bodysuit and simple looped hairstyle are low-maintenace, allowing Padmé to focus on negotiations at first and later on survival. And while her boots feature light shin armor and her utility belt carries extra energy magazines for her blaster, Padmé wears two silver bands on her arms that not only indicate her political service, but also her desire to find a peaceful solution through negotiation to the conflict on Geonosis.

Design: Padmé's most recognizable costume from AotC, the arena outfit bears a striking resemblence to the costume Princess Leia wears for the majority of ESB. Originally, this outfit had a large, white-hooded cloak over it, though it never made it to the movie. Likewise, the intricate hairstyle for this outfit was not the same as originally planned. The hairstyle was to be one large loop, until AotC hairstylist Sue Love suggested to Trisha Biggar they make it many more compact loops. The two made the new style by wrapping hair around thin foam tubes, a design quickly approved by Lucas, and then utilized in the movie.
