Star Wars: Fit for a Queen

Design: Han's costume was in many ways inspired by American military clothing. His shirt was a US calvary shirt, called by costume designer John Mollo as a "Custer" shirt. George Lucas also suggested putting stripes down his the sides of Han's brushed-denim pants, again similar to the calvary. Mollo thought that was a bit too obvious, so the modified that idea by stitching a strip of cloth with machine-woven red rectangles to the pants. The look was finished by a black flap jacket vest with many pockets and black leather boots.
