Star Wars: Fit for a Queen

Welcome to Star Wars: Fit for a Queen!

This is a fansite dedicated to the wonderful costumes of Padme Amidala, her handmaidens, and many other characters in all the Star Wars movies. Whether you're looking for information, pictures or beautiful fanart, you'll find it here! Enjoy your stay and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me!

New Clone Wars Pictures!
So I am very excited about the upcoming Clone Wars movie, as I've said before. And I am fully intending to add as many Clone Wars pictures as I possibly can. So here are some new pictures for tonight, courtesy of the Official Site and IGN:

Padme: 1, 2, 3

I wasn't sure before, but you can tell now that that costume is obviously a slightly modified Arena Outfit, which is both kinda cool (I love the Arena Outfit!) and kinda lame (I want new costumes!) But I am just happy we are seeing Padme in this movie, if only for a short time. The second set of pictures is of the new character, Jedi Ahsoka Tano. I've always loved the background female Jedi from the Prequels, so I think it's great Ahsoka is going to be a main character. Here are some pictures of her, including some high-res screencaps I made from the Clone Wars trailer:

Ahsoka Tano: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, poster

I do have some more pictures of her, and of other characters, that I will be adding soon too. Also, the Clone Wars page has now been divided into Padme and Other Characters (including Ahsoka).

Lastly, the lovely and talented Annarwaya sent me a May calendar - beautiful! Thanks, Annarwaya!

Spring/summer banner and colors!
Hello again - I'm trying to get caught up with all the things I am behind on. First step - new banner and colors for spring/summer! I'm really happy with the way this banner turned out; I didn't really have a plan for it, it just kind of happened. I hope you guys like it too.

Also, I've added a new poll to the right, about the Expanded Universe. The last option is basically my answer... I am still kind of bitter, I won't lie. But anyways, here are the results from the last poll:

Which of these upcoming Lucasfilm projects are you most excited about? [386 votes total]

The new Indiana Jones movie (132) 34%
The 3-D Clone Wars series (77) 20%
The live action Star Wars series (114) 30%
The Force Unleashed multimedia project (29) 8%
None, really (34) 9%

Well, a lot of you guys must be really excited for next week - I personally can't wait to see Indiana Jones! I can't wait for the Clone Wars movie either. So next up, I plan to add all those new pictures that have come out.

And thanks, everyone, for all the comments since yesterday! I appreciate all the support so much!

Aww, guys, I'm sorry
I have been a terrible webmiss the past few months! I'm really sorry about it. I would never abandon this site (it is my baby) but real life has been really busy for me of late. I let myself lapse a bit in updating and then it just became really hard to get back into the flow - it's harder to make time now that I'm working full time as opposed to being a student.

So yes, apologies for my absenteeism! I am working on it, and working on updates again too. In the meantime, be sure to check out the hd trailer for the Clone Wars:

Clone Wars trailer

I am super excited about this movie and will be adding some more pictures of it to the site soon. And my sincere apologies again for my unexpected hiatus!

Goodness!
Ah, sorry for the unexpected hiatus!! Real life has been very busy of late and I haven't had tons of time for the site. So I apologize for that and I will do my best to get something up soon! I am in the middle of an update so it hopefully won't be too long. Thanks for understanding, everyone, and hope your lives are going well!

MLK Weekend
Hello everyone! Over here in the States, it is a holiday weekend and I'm going away on a short trip. I just wanted to let you know, as there won't be any updates to the site until next Tuesday or Wednesday. Thanks for understanding and have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Edit: I found this rather random, rather hilarious article I wanted to share: Someone at the zoo is a Star Wars fan...

Thanks to the ever fabulous and amazing Cute Overload for the heads up!

More Padme and family tree
Well, thanks to sldaly, we have a really neat new addition to the site. Check out the fabulous Skywalker family tree she put together! It's very thorough and well done, and a great reference! If you're concerned about EU spoilers, you might not want to check it out (though there really aren't any recent spoilers on it) - just in case! I've added the family tree under the "More" section on the nav bar if you're looking for it in the future. Thanks so much, sldaly!

And continuing on, here are some more better quality/larger Padme pics:

Parade Gown

Tatooine Blue Dress: Screencap 1, Screencap 2, Screencap 3, Screencap 4, Screencap 5, Screencap 6, Screencap 7, Behind the scenes

More coming soon!

Padme pictures and a fabulous behind the scenes video
A huge thanks to Marie-Claude for bringing this totally awesome video from the Official Site to my (and now your) attention. It's a great look at the filming of two Revenge of the Sith Padme scenes, one with the Green Robe, the other with the Veranda Nightgown.

I really like it because it not only shows behind the scenes things like them messing with Natalie's hair and makeup and Natalie practicing out of costume, but it really shows how important the costumes were during filming. I've read multiple articles from Star Wars actors who couldn't praise the costumes in the prequels enough, not only because they were gorgeous, but because they were the only connection the actors had to this world they were trying to create. And seeing all the green in the video, I think it's really clear how invaluable the amazing work of Trisha Biggar and her team must have been. So, fun stuff. Thanks, Marie-Claude! Oh, and if anyone is feeling so motivated and would like to make some screencaps of that video, I'll owe you big time.

And now that I've babbled on a bit, here are some new/better quality versions of some amazing Trisha Biggar creations:

Water Gown: Screencap 1, Screencap 2, Screencap 3 - I love the costume detail on that last one!

Throne Room: Still (Higher-Res version), Behind the Scenes, Book Cover, Who knew Yves St. Laurent did a TPM line?, Promo, Another promo

And I especially wanted to highlight this amazing promo - we had this picture before, but the quality wasn't nearly as good. I edited this version in Photoshop heavily and I think it came out really nicely.

There's lots coming up soon (including all the fan art you lovely people have sent in in the past few months and I'm behind on posting - sorry!) so stick around!

Wedding Gown and new Leia promo
So I have a Padme update today, to the Wedding Dress page! It's nothing major, but some larger, better quality versions of old pictures:

Concept 1, Concept 2, Concept 3 - These were all done by Dermot Power who I think is just amazing. And while I love the wedding dress that was made, I think the second design would have made a gorgeous dress as well!

Behind the scenes, High-Res version, Behind the scenes 2, Behind the scenes 3

Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2, Screenshot 3, Screenshot 4

Promo - I love this picture!

I have gone through all my other Padme costume folders as well, so I'll be doing more updates like this one for a while. Though we don't have tons of new Padme pictures anymore, I'm trying to make the galleries the best they can be and it's always good to revisit Padme's beautiful costumes. And even though I'm going to keep on adding new characters too, I do still want the main focus on the site to be on Padme!

And while I haven't found a new Padme promo pic in years it seems, Leia promo pictures keep popping up all over the place. Here's the latest one (and a high-res version) I've found. Cute!

Catching up
As it is a new month, we have new calendars! Thanks to Marie Claude and Annarwaya for their beautiful creations! And Annarwaya has also made this fabulous calendar for the entire year. Just lovely!

And I've added a new poll to the right. Here are the results from the last poll:

Are there any Star Wars items on your Christmas/Holiday wish list this year?

All I want is Star Wars stuff! (23) 14%
Yep, there are a bunch! (33) 20%
One or two. (47) 28%
No, not this year (44) 27%
No, I've never really been into Star Wars merchandise (19) 11%

I hope all of you got what you asked for! I got the one Star Wars item I wanted - The Lego Star Wars Complete Saga for Wii. It's fabulous and I highly recommend it!

Anakin Screenshots
Hey guys! Again, thanks for your patience the past few weeks. It was a hectic holiday season for me but things are calming down. I hope you all had a great holiday season!

And as I promised, I've brought treats for all the fangirls. Ep. 3 Anakin has been updated with tons of screenshots. There are many great pictures (and many with Obi-Wan too - yummy!), including these favorites of mine:

Close-up, w/ Obi, Jedi Master, Vader

I hope you like them! I'm hoping to find something to update next for Padme - it's been way too long since we've had a good Padme update! And I have new fan art coming soon too. And of course, the overall goal of 2008 is to keep expanding, adding new characters and new features to the site. So stay tuned and please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Welcome to 2008, you guys! Here's hoping you all had a great holiday season and will have a great year.

And now that the holidays are over and my schedule is going back to normal, expect updates soon. We'll be starting off with some Anakin pictures, so I know all the fangirls out there won't want to miss that!
