The Phantom Menace: Both before and after the Queen's Senate appearance, her loyal handmaidens don rich yet simple burgundy robes that enhance the majesty of the Queen's exquisite gowns. The velvet cloaks have wide cowls to hide the handmaidens' indentities, and are adorned with numerous Naboo Royal symbols repeated in two columns on the front. Underneath the outer layer is a blue underdress with a purple head shawl whose ends hang down the back of the cloak.

These robes were utilized again thirteen years later during Padmé's funeral.
